Automotive experts to gather at Wolfsburg

India is Partner Country at IZB, the International Suppliers Fair

Programme

India has become one of the fastest growing automotive markets in the world and has developed into an international competitor and a force to be reckoned with over the past years. The resulting strategic and operative challenges companies have to face when effectively establishing their market presence in India will be a top issue at the “Indian-German Automotive Congress” taking place on 28th October in Wolfsburg. Leading German and Indian OEMs and suppliers will attend, providing best practice examples and discussing the opportunities offered by bilateral partnerships.

“The awareness of the Indian automotive market has intensified over the past few years, where Indian products are increasingly being promoted to the general public. The congress will offer a perfect communication platform to explore the opportunities and prospects of this market", states Prof. Dr-Ing. Bernd Wilhelm, CEO of Wolfsburg AG, responsible for organizing the Congress together with Volkswagen AG, in co-operation with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Tata Consultancy Services and TÜV Nord. The media partner is the Automobil Industrie, a specialised magazine published by the Vogel Verlag.

The congress will be held during the 5th International Suppliers Fair (IZB), which is the largest trade fair for automotive suppliers in Europe. India is the partner country of this year’s IZB ()

At the beginning of the congress, an introduction to the structure and development of the Indian automotive market will be provided, followed by experts speaking about the market opening and market development strategies used by leading OEMs and suppliers as well as differences in quality standards, which exist between India and the European Union. In the afternoon, representatives from Bosch Limited, Mercedes-Benz, Continental AG and Tata Consultancy Services provide an overview of their strategies to target the Indian and European markets. Opportunities and prospects of German automotive suppliers to open up the Indian market are highlighted at the end of the congress.
